Ecoglo® photoluminescent tile stair nosings are anodized-aluminum step-edge profiles engineered specifically for tiled stairs. They combine luminous step-edge visibility with integrated slip-resistant protection to help define the leading edge of the stair in normal and reduced-light conditions.
The M4.10 profile is compatible with tile approximately 3/16" to 11/32" thick, or about 5–8.5 mm. The M4.125 profile is compatible with tile approximately 3/8" to 1/2" thick, or about 9–12.5 mm. Confirm finished tile thickness before ordering.
The configurations differ in their photoluminescent layout. Ecoglo® describes the M4.10-E30 as having three photoluminescent strips together with a non-slip section across the 2-inch horizontal surface. The M4.10-E40 uses five photoluminescent strips for a larger luminous area.
The current ComposiGrip collection includes M4171.10 Black, M4161.10 Gray and M4151.10 Yellow. The anti-slip color provides traction and daytime contrast; the adjacent photoluminescent material provides the luminous visibility.
No electrical connection is required at the stair nosing. The photoluminescent material absorbs energy from suitable natural or artificial ambient light and releases stored energy as visible illumination when the primary light level falls.
