I installed these tread covers on my rear interior wooden stairway for two reasons: to provide a safer footing, and to cover painted treads that contained lead paint. Several of the stair treads were an unusual shape, and I used cardboard templates and a diamond tooth blade on my circular saw to cut them to shape. Quite a bit of fiberglass dust is generated, and a mask, gloves and safety glasses are essential. I paid the extra to have ComposiGrip cut the standard rectangular treads to size; well worth the added cost. I attached the new treads to the wooden stairs using Loctite PL3X construction adhesive. Very happy with the results.
Great visibility in low light and very durable product.
Very pleased with the quality of these non slip treads. During inclement weather, our wood stairs can send us on a triple Salchow for which I do not have the skills or training, resulting in an undesirable tumble and flop. Avoiding 911 calls and someone else brushing my hair for me, is the going to be the outcome with this grippers under foot.
