Ecoglo® RFA7B161 is the Gray configuration of the RF7B-E40 Photoluminescent Anodized Aluminum Resilient Flooring Stair Nosing. It uses a 90° aluminum stair-edge profile designed to install flush with resilient flooring.

RF7B-E40 combines photoluminescent stair-edge strips with a hard-wearing Gray silicon-carbide anti-slip component to provide visible stair-edge definition, pedestrian traction and a neutral architectural appearance in commercial stair applications.

RF7B-E40 Installation

Install the RF7B-E40 nosing flush with resilient flooring using adhesive and mechanical fasteners in accordance with current Ecoglo® installation instructions and the approved project detail.

The aluminum profile is supplied with pre-drilled countersunk holes. Standard hole locations are approximately 2 inches from each end and approximately 12 inches apart.

Stainless-steel fasteners and concrete nylon anchors are supplied. The insert is supplied unattached and installed over the mechanical fasteners using the included polyurethane adhesive.

Anodized Aluminum Finish & Durability

Clear Anodized Aluminum is the standard RF7B-E40 extrusion finish. Ecoglo® also identifies Black, Light Bronze and Dark Bronze anodized finishes as additional-cost options.

The Gray RFA7B161 anti-slip configuration is separate from the aluminum extrusion finish. The manufacturer describes the anodized aluminum finish as hard, abrasion-resistant and corrosion-resistant, while protective ridges help protect the photoluminescent material from abrasive wear.

  • Tested to accelerated UV/weathering exposure, and proven to be highly resistant to the effects of UV/weathering.
  • The loss in performance is less than can be detected by the human eye when subjected to 6000 hours of UV exposure, which is similar to 30 years of outdoor exposure.
  • The polymer used in Ecoglo’s patented process is “long chain” which forms a strong UV resistant product when bonding.
