Ecoglo® commercial stair products include photoluminescent and non-slip stair nosings, flat nosings, carpet nosings, tile nosings, cast-in-place concrete nosings, contrast strips and non-slip stair strips.
Product selection should be based on the stair substrate, flooring finish, profile dimensions, installation method and project specification.

View Flat Stair Nosings →What is the difference between photoluminescent and non-slip Ecoglo® products?
Photoluminescent Ecoglo® products contain luminous material that absorbs energy from suitable ambient illumination and becomes visible when normal lighting is reduced.
Non-slip Ecoglo® products focus primarily on durable traction and stair-edge color contrast without requiring a luminous component. Some Ecoglo stair products combine both functions.
Which Ecoglo® stair nosing should I specify for concrete stairs?
For new concrete, concrete-filled steel-pan or precast stair construction, architects and contractors should typically review Ecoglo® cast-in-place stair nosing systems.
For an existing cured concrete stair, a retrofit product such as a flat stair nosing or compatible surface-mounted stair-edge solution may be more appropriate. Always coordinate final selection with the stair detail, project drawings and specification.
Does Ecoglo® make stair nosings for tile and carpet?
Yes. Ecoglo® offers dedicated stair-nosing profiles for both tile and carpet stair assemblies.
Tile nosings are designed around specified tile thicknesses, while carpet nosings provide an aluminum stair-edge profile designed for carpeted stair applications. Both photoluminescent and non-photoluminescent configurations are available within applicable product families.
Are Ecoglo® products suitable for government and institutional projects?
Ecoglo® products can be considered for government, institutional and large commercial projects such as schools, universities, hospitals, transit facilities, airports, parking structures, hotels, stadiums and public buildings.
The appropriate product should be selected according to the project drawings, specification, stair construction, installation requirements and applicable code criteria.

Browse All Ecoglo® Products →Are Ecoglo® photoluminescent products code compliant?
Code and listing requirements depend on the building type, occupancy, jurisdiction, adopted code edition and exact Ecoglo® product configuration .
Some Ecoglo photoluminescent products are designed and tested for specific luminous-egress applications, but a blanket compliance statement should not be applied to every product.
Architects, contractors and building officials should review the current product data, applicable listing documentation, project specification and requirements of the Authority Having Jurisdiction before final selection.
Review guidance for luminous egress path-marking projects.
Open Compliance Guide →What are luminous egress path markings?
Luminous egress path markings are visible guidance elements used along portions of an emergency exit route.
Depending on the project, a luminous egress system may include stair-edge markings, handrail markings, perimeter markings, floor or wall guidance strips, door markings and exit signs .
These products provide passive visual guidance when normal lighting is reduced and should be coordinated with the applicable project and code requirements.
Can contractors request Ecoglo® technical information for bids and submittals?
Yes. Contractors, estimators, architects and procurement teams should review the individual Ecoglo® product pages for dimensions, model numbers, installation information, technical data and supporting documentation .
For larger commercial, government or specification-driven projects, ComposiGrip can assist with identifying the appropriate product family and available project documentation.
